I recently started paying attention to a tiny detail in my life and I was amazed by the major effects it had on every aspect of my life.
Beauty Sleep might just sounds like an old wives' tale to you. I've never really minded what I read about Beauty Sleep being scientifically proven until recently. I've always been like; if it had any effect whatsoever, it would be something really subtle that wouldn't really help with my issue.
Darn it, I was wrong!
The reason why I decided to put that "myth" under the microscope is because I noticed that sometimes, when I wake up in the morning after a good night's sleep, I'm feeling healthy (both physically and mentally) and above all, my face looks flawless!! At other times, I wake up looking like someone else. Completely different! My nose looks incredibly wider and bigger, my eyes look weird no matter what I do. My face just keeps looking awfully "wrong" all day and not just during the morning.
I've been experimenting over a couple of nights by sleeping early and getting a good night's rest for at least 7 hours but no more than 9 hours, and then by going to bed late and waking up tired, be it late or early in the morning. I eventually came to these conclusions:
- A good night's sleep (before midnight, uninterrupted and lasting at least 7 hours) makes me look incredibly more attractive: My eyes look bright and wide-open, my features look fine and normal and even my skin looks healthier.
It also makes me feel much better during the day: less stressed, more active and energetic and an overall in a better mood.
- A Bad night's sleep causes bloating and it's what I hate most. I look really bad because my nose swells and looks awfully bigger. My eyes look droopy and my daily makeup routine suddenly won't help in making me look any better, not to mention I feel like crap all day.
Bottom line: Yes, ladies, Beauty Sleep is real. Just try it for two consecutive nights and you will see by yourself!
